Wisconsin Tax Check Off

Now - April 15

It's that time of year again - tax time! And this year, you can again turn tax time into dinner time through the Wisconsin Tax Check Off program. The program helps you easily donate a portion of your state tax refund to our network of regional food banks in Wisconsin.

It's really easy. If you use tax preparation software like TurboTax, an option to donate to local charities will come up toward the end of your state return. Simply select "Hunger Relief" or "Feeding America" and voila, you're done. TurboTax will even remember your donation for your charitable deduction next year!

If you are filling out the Wisconsin state tax return forms, you can find the option to donate on line 26 of the short form or line 25 on the long form.

Funds will be distributed between Wisconsin food banks by the percentage of the state that each one serves.

Your continued generous support helped to enable over 86,000 meals throughout the southwestern Wisconsin. For every dollar that you donate, our food bank can provide 3 meals to the families that visit local food programs.

Outnumber Hunger

Now - January 31, 2018

Help generate meals with Outnumber Hunger.

WHAT IS OUTNUMBER HUNGER?

Outnumber Hunger is a partnership between General Mills, Feeding America® and Big Machine Label Group to help Feeding America secure millions of meals on behalf of local food banks.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

For every code you enter by January 31, 2018, General Mills will donate 45¢ to Feeding America® – enough to secure 5 meals on behalf of local food banks.* To say thanks for helping, you’ll get access to stream an exclusive Pandora Mixtape from multi-platinum, singer-songwriter Thomas Rhett and his friends at Big Machine Label Group, and a free Pandora Plus trial.

*Maximum total donation of $700,000. General Mills has already donated $500,000 and will donate up to an additional $200,000 based on online code entry and other consumer actions. Look for more information about the program at www.OutnumberHunger.com.

Adopt-A-Dairy-Cow

Ongoing

Adopt-A-Dairy-CowMilk is a protein-rich product that is rarely donated to Second Harvest. On average, we can only provide approximately 1/3 of the milk that is requested by our partner agencies.

But you can help! This June, to celebrate June Dairy Month, we're looking for 650 "adopters" to adopt the milk production of a cow for a day for just $36.  If you are interested in learning more about sponsorship opportunities, please email Laura Gaffney or call 608.216.7205.

Beyond feeling good about helping those facing hunger this Summer, each adopter will receive an Adoption Certificate that features the "sassy" bovine beauty of their choice.

What are you waiting for? With your help we can turn June Dairy Month into June Dairy Summer! Adopt-A-Dairy-Cow now!
