David Lee Named Executive Director of Feeding Wisconsin
August 25, 2014Milwaukee, Wis. – Feeding Wisconsin, formerly named, Wisconsin Association of Feeding America Food Banks, has selected David Lee as its new Executive Director. Lee will lead the organization in its efforts to ensure that struggling Wisconsinites have access to the food and benefits they need to be their best. Lee is a nationally recognized nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience in community relations and public affairs, specializing in anti-hunger programming and advocacy.

Feeding Wisconsin Receives CNCS Grant
August 28, 2015Feeding Wisconsin received a $49,370 grant award from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) to evaluate and explore the feasibility of an AmeriCorps program that will engage members to help families with low-incomes living throughout the state access to the nutritious food they need to fuel their lives.

Feeding Wisconsin joins call to reinstate ABAWD waiver in FoodShare program
March 23, 2016On Tuesday, four members of Wisconsin’s Congressional delegation delivered a letter to Governor Walker urging him to reinstate the federal waiver to allow Able-Bodied Adults without Dependents (ABAWDs) to access the FoodShare Program without restriction in the 20 counties and 10 cities in Wisconsin with continued high unemployment. Feeding Wisconsin, the statewide association of the six Feeding America food banks operating in Wisconsin, joins with the many local groups and anti-hunger organizations in supporting this effort.

Feeding Wisconsin receives $50,000 Walmart State Giving grant
April 18, 2016Feeding Wisconsin is one of 14 organizations in Wisconsin to receive a Walmart State Giving grant. Its grant of $50,000 will allow Feeding Wisconsin to partner with the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen to pilot an innovative product transformation program.

Feeding Wisconsin asks Dairy State to Take Action to End Hunger this September
August 31, 2016This September Feeding Wisconsin and its network of participating food banks, together with the Feeding America nationwide network of food banks, will mobilize across all 50 states in an effort to bring an end to hunger. Hunger Action Month is designed to inspire people to take action and raise awareness of the fact that 48 million Americans, including 15 million children, are food insecure, according to the USDA.

Feeding Wisconsin Awarded DATCP Food Security Initiative Funding For COVID-19 Response and Recovery
September 10, 2020Feeding Wisconsin received two grant awards through the Food Security Initiative administered by the WI DATCP. Feeding Wisconsin’s network was awarded $2.2 Million via the COVID-19 Food Security Network Support Grant and just over $5 Million via the COVID-19 Food Security and Wisconsin Products Grant.
